Also known as English Baroque, this genre from the late 60s used instrumentation borrowed from classical chamber music, with a heavy emphasis on harpsichords, cellos and woodwinds, to create thoroughly melancholy pop music. The perfect music for rainy weather, cardigans and tea-drinking.
