Language and Politics

In this episode we discuss how language and politics affect each other. We take a look at linguistic imperialism and how language can be viewed as a form of power. Furthermore, we bring up the use of language tests and citizenship and discuss if it can be a way of ensuring integration into the society or rather pose an unnecessary hindrance for migrants. Lastly, we discuss how the view of dialects and regional languages have changed during French history and what this means for contemporary French Society
